Literacy and Language Classes
Our English language classes range from literacy to CEF B2+ (intermediate), and take place both in person and online. We offer a maximum of twenty six classes per week, with space for 10-12 learners per class. We also teach offsite in refugee camps and safe-houses for unaccompanied minors in collaboration with AWAS.

All our teachers have a TEFL/ESOL/CELTA and/or a pedagogical qualification, as well as many combined years of experience working in the humanitarian field.

Classes By Women For Women
We run five weekly classes by women for women, from literacy to CEF B2+ (intermediate). Migrant mothers and/or victims of sex trafficking and/or gender based violence are an especially marginalised group in Malta and are often left behind.
By providing a safe and welcome space as well as free childcare during lesson time, we ensure that migrant women and mothers have the chance they deserve to learn and take part in community activities.
Digital Literacy Classes
Our courses on basic and helpful everyday IT skills, for example how to navigate Google drives and improve proficiency in gmail, docx and sheets, are a firm favourite with our students, and all delivered using a smartphone.
Many of our students do not have the luxury of owning or having access to tablets, laptops, PCs, or uninterrupted fast WiFi. These courses provide a practical pathway to accessing the digital world while making the most of the limited technology available.

Literacy Videos
Much of the literacy material available on the internet is made for children. With the financial support of the MCVS VOPS scheme, we created, produced and published short literacy videos aimed at teens and adults alike.
Free, downloadable and sharable, these reels can be used by teachers as part of a lesson, or learners can watch and practice in their own time and at their own pace to complement their course. The reels are accessible for all on our YouTube and TikTok channels.
Fact Sheets
We produce and publish country of origin fact sheets that provide transparency and combat dis/misinformation regarding critical political and cultural issues which drive migration, and highlight education and literacy, or severe lack thereof in some cases.

In addition, our special topic fact sheets highlight topics such as FGM/Cutting, LGBTQI+ and child marriage, as well as putting the spotlight on migration statistics in our own location, Malta.

EBook "Instant English"
The ebook "Instant English", written by our volunteer, Asiya, in 2024, when she was just fourteen years old, and was inspired by her own struggles in adapting to a new environment.
"Instant English" has five helpful units with 200+ words of English vocabulary, phrases, images and exercises to help students master daily English. Translations into Arabic, Ukrainian, and Spanish are included - the most frequent first languages of our students. It's free, downloadable and sharable here.
